Noordhoek is 35 kilometres south of Cape Town city centre, and is best known for its 8 kilometre long uninterrupted white, sandy beach that stretches all the way to the next community of Kommetjie. It has its own shipwreck, the steamship Kapako, which ran aground a hundred years ago.
